Update Instructions
NOTE: You must close the PHDWin program prior to installing version or build updates.
To update your BUILD of PHDWin:
- Download the build from our website here.
- When prompted to Open or Save the file, choose Save.
- Close PHDWin.
- Unzip the downloaded file in order to access the MSI file inside.
- Double-click the MSI file to install the new version. Install the new build in the same directory as your old build (the installation wizard will automatically select the directory.)
To update your VERSION of PHDWin:
- Use this link to download the new build here.
- When prompted to Open or Save the file, choose Save.
- Close PHDWin.
- Unzip the downloaded file in order to access the MSI file inside.
- Double click the MSI file to install the new version.
Begin running the install wizard. We highly recommend you allow the default location to be chosen as shown below:
Important: After the program has been installed, open PHDWin. With any new version install, you will need to request a new license. Please see below for license request instructions.
To request a new PHDWin License:
1. Open PHDWin.
2. On the main screen, click the Register button:
3. Fill out the form completely.
4. Verify the System ID field has been populated:
5a. If you use Outlook or Thunderbird:
Click the "Request" button to generate an email to license@phdwin.com. Please use the subject line: "License Request for PHDWin 2.9"
The information from this screen will be present in the email, so just send in the message.
5b. For other mail clients or web-based mail services:
Please take a screenshot of this screen (use Ctrl + PrintScreen to make a screenshot) then paste the screenshot into a new mail message and send it to license@phdwin.com. Please use the subject line: "License Request for PHDWin 2.9"
To determine the version/build of your PHDWin software:
- Run the PHDWin program.
- Use the "Help" pull-down menu to choose "Tech
Support"
- The information shown will include the version and build number you are currently running.
- If the version shown is less than the number of the patch above,
you should download the patch for your version of the program
and update.
