TRC Consultants is now offering online, instructor lead training classes. These one to three hour courses are focused in on a particular topic, and target many of the features, concepts and modeling techniques in PHDWin. Below is a complete listing of the classes offered. Keep your eye on the schedule for upcoming dates for the classes you wish to attend.

  1. Access Exports & Data Integration
    • Description:New to PHDWin 2.75, the MS Access and Excel exports open a whole new world of data integration. This class will cover the creation of custom outputs in Access, and Excel, as well as creating dynamic linkages that will integrate PHDWin data into existing spreadsheets and Access databases.
    • Duration: 3 Hours
    • Prerequisites: Understanding of Excel and Access including creating queries and reports.

  2. After Federal Tax Economics
    • Description:PHDWin comes equipped with all the tools you need to run your projects with federal income tax considerations. This class will cover everything from turning after tax economics on, to the handling of investments, depreciation and depletion and reporting after tax economics.
    • Duration: 2 Hours
    • Prerequisites: Understanding of investment creation, and report running.

  3. Allocations
    • Description:This class covers the allocation feature of the Platform group cases. It covers the handling of allocations amongst individual cases, as well as nested groups and allocating multiple levels.
    • Duration: 1 Hour
    • Prerequisites: Group Case Types, Group Economics.

  4. ARIES Conversions
    • Description:This class covers the basics of converting an ARIES Windows file into a PHDWin database. From data mapping and qualifier selection to common errors and troubleshooting techniques, the class covers all of the steps users should take short of contracting TRC to convert the file for you.
    • Duration: 1 Hour
    • Prerequisites: Custom importing.

  5. Cash Forumlas
    • Description:From dynamic expense modeling to international contracts, Cash formulas is a powerful tool in PHDWin that allows the user to write conditional stream arithmetic equations that can affect revenues, expenses, taxes and more.
    • Duration: 3 Hours
    • Prerequisites: Understanding of the economic modeling in PHDWin.

  6. Custom Import Types (CSV & Excel)
    • Description:PHDWin is capable of importing data from a wide variety of sources. Custom imports often come in the form of Excel spreadsheets, and this class covers the processes and procedures necessary for getting that data into PHDWin.
    • Duration: 1 Hour
    • Prerequisites: None

  7. Group Case Types
    • Description:This class covers the basics, and the creation of the group economic case types including Summary Plots, Normalized Curves, Unit Cases, Gas Plants, and Platforms.
    • Duration: 1 Hour
    • Prerequisites: Basic case economics.

  8. Group Economics
    • Description:This class will walk you through the creation and use of Group Economics. It will cover topics including Group Economic Limits, GEL calculations, incrementals and GELs, and group case set ups.
    • Duration: 3 Hours
    • Prerequisites: Understanding of individual case economics, pricing, expenses, investments and ownership.

  9. Group Reversions
    • Description:Ownership reversions that affect a group of cases, Group Reversions are a powerful tool in PHDWin. This class covers all of the options for running group ownership reversions on cases, and how those tools affect the ownership of the individual cases.
    • Duration: 1 Hour
    • Prerequisites: Understanding of ownership and basic reversions.

  10. Reconciliation of Databases
    • Description:PHDWin has the ability to combine previously run economic output files into one economic run. Whether trying to sum two separate PHDWin files without having to merge the files, or attempting to run incremental economics across years, the reconcile feature is one of the most advanced reporting tools in PHDWin.
    • Duration: 1 Hour
    • Prerequisites: Understanding or running reports in PHDWin.

  11. Working with Unit & Currency Conversions
    • Description:Unit conversions affect international, and domestic reporting alike. Learn the ins and outs of effectively managing the units of individual products on a case, and project level. This class also covers unit conventions and their affects on reports, as well as the creation of new currencies and reporting in those currencies.
    • Duration: 1 Hour
    • Prerequisites: Running reports in PHDWin, creating and editing products in PHDWin.
