Software Technologist - Maersk Oil Corporate Reserves Team
Maersk Oil is an international oil and gas company with operations in Denmark, the UK, Qatar, Kazakhstan, Brazil and Algeria. Maersk Oil and its subsidiary companies are part of the Danish A.P. Moller - Maersk Group.
Purpose:
The newly formed Corporate Reserves Team is accountable for producing an annual reserves report adhering to the global industry standard of the SPE PRMS (Society of Petroleum Engineers - Petroleum Resource Management System). As such this role has been created to strengthen the team's ability to cope with increasing demand of reporting and to develop in-house specialist software capabilities for High Availability and Advanced support throughout the organization.
General Duties:
Ensure the continued utilization of specialist software
Maintain versioning control of databases and documents
Rapidly establish a strong relation with end users, software vender and IT groups
Show initiative and innovation for improvement of the established systems.
Specific Duties:
Provide data management support to the Reserves Team
Managing updates and revisions of fiscal economic models (coding) between users
Maintaining integrity and validity of databases at all times
Strive for end user database ownership
Follow-up on actions and interact with all relevant stakeholders
Assist in documentation and feedback to end users
Other ad-hoc tasks as determined by lead / manager
Education and Experience:
University studies related to IT administration and/or
Other field of study with experience in software support
Experience working in a large international company, capable of multi-tasking
and advantageous to have knowledge of the Oil and Gas industry.
Experience in working with similar tasks in a multicultural work environment.
Advantageous to have basic understanding of project economics.
Skills and Competence:

Well developed communication skills and team player attitude
Able to effectively priorities tasks
Desired understanding of Visual Basic and/or SQL
MS Office with capability in Excel and Access
Other:
Ability to learn fast from informal and formal instruction with a strong drive for personal learning. Not afraid to investigate issues independently, and the ability and desire to answer questions and resolve problems is highly desired.
Ability to think logically and creatively - consistent, logical methodology to find the resolution to problems related to structured and sequential databases.
Must be able to travel globally to all Maersk offices with appropriate nationality and/or visas.

Job Responsibilities:
Aggregate data from Drilling Info and as well as state websites if necessary to:
Create necessary tables with supporting data, including monthly production, LOE, LOS, and well lists
Use PHDwin to create historical decline curves
Prepare data for input into ArcMap to display well activity and lease information
Job Qualifications:
2-4 years similar experience
Strong skills with the following programs: Microsoft Access, Excel, Outlook, ArcMap
Ability to multitask
PHDwin strongly preferred
Strong attention to detail
Oil and gas industry experience strongly preferred
